After surviving a 110,000-volt electrocution, my story of resilience, mental health, and workplace safety is one that everyone needs to hear.

In 2011, my life changed forever when I was electrocuted by 110,000 volts while working in a high-risk environment. Surviving that accident led me to discover an inner strength I never knew I had.

I share my story of resilience, mental health awareness, and workplace safety with audiences across New Zealand. My mission is to inspire others to overcome their challenges, to live in the present, and to always prioritise safety and well-being.

Today, I run a successful business called Crispy Avo, where I manage the retail and wholesale distribution of fruits and vegetables.

Through Crispy Avo, I’m committed to providing high-quality produce to local communities, while using my journey as a way to inspire others.

Despite my near-fatal encounter, I have not only survived but thrived, turning my experience into a source of strength and determination.

My Story.

In October 2011, while working on an avocado orchard, I experienced a life-altering accident. I was electrocuted by 110,000-volt power lines twice, the first one killing me and the second bringing me back to life, suffering burns to 60% of my body.

I spent months in and out of ICU at Middlemore Hospital, facing a long and gruelling recovery process.

Doctors told me I would likely never walk again, but I refused to accept that. I pushed through intense rehabilitation, driven by my determination to overcome the odds both physically and mentally.

My daughter, Nevaeh, has been my greatest motivation, giving me a purpose to keep moving forward and rebuild my life.

BSGC were a big part of my recovery and have given me opportunities to connect with others who have gone through similar struggles, share experiences, and gain strength from each other. It was an incredible experience that reinforced my belief in resilience and opened new paths to finding happiness and fulfilment.
